Harrison’s House was created out of deep love for our first-born son, Harrison. He was born at 37 weeks on August 24, 2024. During delivery, we faced severe and unexpected complications, and Harrison passed away in the NICU on August 26. A reality we never imagined became ours—we became part of the 1 in 4.
In connecting with other families who have experienced loss, we quickly learned that not all perinatal bereavement care is the same. Even within the same hospitals, support can vary widely. Too many families leave not only empty-armed, but empty-handed—without the tangible memories that become so meaningful in grief. The few keepsakes we have of Harrison are among our most treasured possessions. Knowing others may go without them is what drove us to create Harrison’s House.
As we continue to navigate our own grief, our hearts have expanded to the many different paths and challenges of building a family. Our mission is to Build Brighter Beginnings—to support bereaved parents and NICU families, and to advocate for better care in maternal and fetal medicine so more moms and babies can thrive. We see the emotional and financial challenges so many face, and we believe no one should have to walk that path alone.
